Me at St Joseph’s Cathedral Palayam

My first impression about the church is that it is truly a calm and quiet place within the city. This church is one of the oldest and the most popular church in trivandrum city commonly known as palayam pally in malayalam. I have been there several times with my wife. Just like all the christian churches in trivandrum this church also welcomes persons from all walks of life irrespective of caste, creed or religion. After praying in the church usually my mind gets calm down and will  get a feeling that someone is there looking after me and my family.

Two weeks before i had gone there to give a neriyathu (a kerala style saree) to be placed infront of the Mother Mary’s Idol.  The cloth was given as a sort of thanks giving from my wife. Yesterday when i reached the church and asked regarding the same to a church official he told me that it has been placed in the church for 4 days and given it to a poor family in the city. It was a great news for me that it has been given to a suffering person.
