My shopping in Varkeys Super Market

Another super market in trivandrum. This time it is Varkeys. Varkeys is the latest addition to the number of super market in trivandrum.Varkeys super market has been launched in trivandrum after making feets firm in the city of cochin. Day before yesterday i have been there to Varkeys to buy some essential commodities.
My first impression about supermarket is that the things are well organised and tidy. Unlike bigbazaar this is not a shopping mall but super market packed with essential commodities and products which are for day to day use. While in the shop i bought some FMCG products and some vegetables. Good assistance has been provided by the sales staff and the shop helpers in selecting the products. The great thing about buying vegetables and fruits from varkeys is that we can take based on our need. For example if we want two tomatos and a potato, we can take that and we have to pay only for that.
I meant to say that the number of pre-packaged vegetables is very less, except onions and some other items. And we have to pay based on the weight of the vegetable we have taken.
An interesting thing which found of varkey is the fish bazaar. A separate counter is provided for those who are in need of fresh marine items. From the fish counter we can buy fish based on kgs. The fish counter is also providing a service to those who want to clean, slice the fish and apply some fish masala. While in trivandrum city if you are in need of fresh fish, visit varkeys get the processed fish and put it in your frying pan. Don’t forget to add oil. Have a nice meal with fresh fish. I think this will be helpful for working women.
I have purchased things for only a small amount. On billing the products i found that the products are slightly less priced when compared to MRP. Don’t get excited the price difference is not that much big. Varkeys has given a new name to these discounted price, they call it as VRP.

Varkeys also has a section for sweets, baked items and confectionaries. As i am not very much font of sweets and pastries i hasnt given attention to that. Another peculiar thing about varkeys is that they have provided a small counter for hot “Hot Dogs” and “Chicken Sausage”, just outside the super market. One finger sized hot dog costs about 9 ruppes and there is no discount on that, you have to pay 9 rupees. I bought 2 Hot Dog and headed back home.

Just tell me about your expecience with shopping malls and supermarkets.
