Festival in Attukal Temple Commenced

The auspicious and the world famous festival of attukal temple has commenced. The temple is otherwise known as the sabarimala of women. The 10 days of attukal festival will bring devotees from around the world. The festival will be ending on the next day of the world famous attukal pongala. This years attukal pongala will be offered on 22nd of this month. Trivandum city and people are prepared enough to celebrate this festival. For the people of trivandrum it is celebration time for the coming 10 days.

Just now i am back from attukal temple. I have gone along with my wife. The temple has been decorated with leaves, tender coconuts, different flowers and plaintains. Roof of the temple is decorated with lights. Not only the temple the different routes which are leading to the temple is also decorated. Many stalls showing casing different fancy items and utilities has also started on the way to the temple. Cultural programs are being performed in a stage just out side the temple and in the mini stage inside the temple. People, both males and females were getting inside the temple with high devotion to see a glimse of amma. To my curiosity i had seen two ladies from abroad inside the temple. Those foreigners were eager to see the idol of amma and know more about amma and pongala. The festival has just started, till attukal pongala it is celebration time.
