Prarthana Giri - Prayer Mountain - Vattapara, Trivandrum

Prarthana Giri or Prayer Mountain is located in Mele Chittazha. Mele Chittaza is a small junction which one can find why travelling from maruthoor junction on the way to vattapara. This place is less than 2 kilometers from maruthoor junction. In order to reach prarthana giri you have to turn left from this junction. This road which turns leftward is just opposite to an indira ghandhi statue on the side of the mc road. On turning left one have to travel about one and kilometer to reach the beautiful prarthana giri. Yesterday evening i have gone there to meet the pastor Samuel Vargheese, who is the owner and founder of this prayer mountain.

Prarthana Giri is a calm and quite place in the outskirts of the trivandrum city where one can find peace of mind. The place primarily built for those who are in need to worship the almighty god in a peaceful atmosphere. I think this is a big step in kerala towards the field of spiritual tourism. Prarthana Giri is equiped with all the facilites like well furnished rooms, prayer halls, dining halls and a cook for home made food. I think this is one of a kind of place in kerala especially in the district of trivandrum. The Prarthana Giri is composed of one big and stand alone prayer hall, four to six well furnished rooms, a dining hall with kitchen and an office building.

On taking with the samuel achan, he told that sir laurie becker has designed this building in the year 1995 and built on the method of low cost and nature based constructions. He was very much keen on tell me about the facilites and services offered by Prarthana Giri. He, Samuel Varghese is one of the founder of the famous charity organisation for the old age people in trivandrum, Pakal Veedu.

I loved the place and i am planning to visit the place again.
