When designing a webiste, always choose matching colors. Saying about matching color the website would be to have a dark background, with visible words and designs. With the dark theme, try not to mix too many bright colors into the design. It is not recommended to mix two very different colors, such as purple and yellow. But keep in mind that, it would solely depend on the purpose of the website.

Website themes must always go along or must be matching the color pattern of the company’s logo. In most cases when we are designing a webiste we are not supposed to change the logo color and its patter to suits the websit design which we have created. The website which we are creating is being developed to cater to company’s needs not our personal needs. It would be wise to stick to that company’s category, rather than to revert to a different theme. In one of the website i have created www.indiantourplanners.com, the client has told that a pattern of yellow should be followed as the company is designing its broschures and visiting cards are following a yellow color pattern.

Fonts should be used in regard to the formality of the website. A simple sans-serif font would suffice in most cases. Exceptional cases such as design and art groups might want to use fanciful designs and fonts. Of course, that’s only if you know what you’re doing.

Finally, we must always try to think of our visitors, look at things as visitors would perceive from a design. The resolutions and file sizes of the pictures must not be too large in terms of size. Dont try to use bmp of png files in a website because it will take more time to load and there is chance that visitors will leave the website before getting fully loaded. Most of the websites make use of gif images rather than other formats. This is to allow maximum compatibility and cater our visitor’s needs.

First Case : A website with good design and breathtaking graphics. (Good color schemes with matching theme), pictures. (Optimum resolutions and relevant) and proper fonts and word sizes.

Second Case : A website inversely equipped with hideous graphics and pictures in terms of resolution, quality and relevancy. (Red pictures with a bright green background) Fonts used were not matching albeit too fanciful. (Too small, artsy font-types)

First Case, visitors that enter the website are immediately impressed by the design and artwork. The well placed pictures and designs will somewhat symbolizes the positive nature of the company/website. As we know, most people make a judgement by a great impression. As the quote says first impression is the best impression. If the website looks appealing at the firt look then there is greater chance of getting loyal visitors to your website.

With regard to second case the shabby environment due to severe lack of creativity and badly taken pictures wouldn’t exactly help in attracting visitors. Fonts that were hard to be read, let alone comprehended, and mismatching themes in terms of color, isn’t exactly welcoming, is it?

Analysis: Now, the main idea here is to always plan your websites, try to ask other individuals for feedback and try to look into the website design from their perspective. Each mindset might differ, but at least you will some tips for improvement. Don’t think that only webiste with breaktaking graphics will only attract visitors, even a plain website with proper design would generate plenty of loyal visitors.
