Google Chrome - Open Source Internet Browser
Today i have downloaded and installed the newly launched Google’s Browser named Chrome. I my first impression to the browser is that it is a light weight one. The browser which is in the beta version has got a simple design. Unlike other browsers like Mozilla and internet explorer i couldn’t find the usual menu bars and drop down menus on the top of the browser window. The functions associated with browser history and search the website which we have browsed is an interesting functionality. After browsing some websites i have closed the browser and restarted it. On restarting the browser i found that a new tab is generated in the browser with the thumbnails of previously visited websites. I found this feature to be an interesting one.
Another interesting feature is the incognito window. This window will be opened as a separate window in the browser, which helps in browsing the net without leaving any traces of your browsing. As per Google while browsing with this window “Pages you view in this window won’t appear in your browser history or search history, and they won’t leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window.” I think this is a much need feature especially when we are browsing from public places and internet cafes where there is no option for secure browsing. In other browsers like Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox we have to manually clear all the private values after browsing from a public computer.
These are some of my first impression on Google’s new browser. After downloading the browser and testing it i have searched over the net to find what people are talking about this new browser. According to some experts and those who have tested this browser has compared with other browsers and found that this browser is much faster in executing javascript. Some experts have also suggested that the new browser is vulnerable to carpet bombing. It may expose the windows users to malicious hacker attacks. Google Chrome users can be lured into downloading and launching a Java Archive file, those files will be having extension .jar, gets executed without showing any warning. The jar file requires only two clicks of mouse to implement a malware on Windows operating system.Planting of malware on a system with few mouse clicks is commonly referred to as carpet bombing.
Have you downloaded and tested this new browser? If no then down load it from this website, www.google.com/chrome. Share your experience with Google Chrome as comments.

In Chrome, browser tabs will take over the interface, becoming the primary navigational element. Each tab will get its own window controls. Users will be able to tear off tabs into standalone windows.
