When it was introduced by yahoo, there were lots of users for this service. But with the introduction of other players in the online storage market, yahoo has lots its share and that might be the reason to close this service.
I know one of my friend who is using yahoo briefcase to store his files online. He is running a travel company and used to store travel packages and tour itineraries as text file to yahoo briefcase. I have informed him about this news. He told me that he is planning to another online storage service.
Yahoo said in a statement that other yahoo services like Yahoo Mail and Flickr (online photos sharing website), offers much more storage capacity, and the number of people who are availing this service has come down in the recent years.
