Interview with Mr. Ranjith. Malayalam Script Writer, Director, Actor

Yesterday i watched an interesting interview of Ranjith, who is one of the most successful script writer in malayalam. The interview was on air in Asianet Cable Vision. In the interview Mr. Ranjith has talked about the current scenario of malayalam movie industry and about his work life. Mr Ranjith is not only a script writer but also an actor and a director. He has written scripts for many malayalam box office hits and directed movies which malayalees will keep close to their heart in the years to come.

He is having the opinion that there is a lack of quality audience for good and non commercial malayalam movies. The audience especially the youth are not interested in watching movies which has got artistic value. Keralites wants to watch movies which are purely for entertainment and movies which has got realistic stories has got comparatively less viewership. In malayalam movie industry a movies is known after the star values of rather than who is directing it.

The script writer cum director has got he opinion that superstars in kerala like mammooty and mohanlal cannot be blamed for problems in malayalam movie industry because along with commercial movies they are acting in movies ‘Kayyoppu’ and ‘Paradeshi’. But there is less viewership for these kind of movies even if it has got star value.

Mr Ranjith has also added that perspective of youth toward movies and other arts has changed and a few people are taking about good movies (non-commercial ones), drama, poets etc. One of the reason he finds is that the lack of reading and lack of knowledge about the current happenings in the immediate world.

I have searched for more details about Mr Ranjith in the internet and found more facts. You can find more about Ranjith, the movies has has worked with and about his career in this page Ranjith - Wikipedia

Second onam or thiruonam is widely celebrated by keralites. In all parts of kerala people will be preparing pookalams or flower mats in front of their houses to welcome onam and the king mahabali. Now a days people are not making pookalams infront of their houses but creating beside the roads by some group of people. Anyway it is great that people are preparing it and upholding this age old tradition.

For the coming 4 days or the 4 onam kerala will be colorful, vibrant and illuminated than any other days in the year and all the people will be in an enthusiastic mood. People will be enjoying in their own way with friends and families as this happens only once in a year.

Today people will be running around to buy things for the preparation of the unique feast for the thiruonam day. This hanging around of people in the market to buy things is commonly called “uthrada pachil” in kerala. Today i have bought the things for the preparation of feast for the thiruonam day.

Yesterday in kerala government’s onam celebration has been officially inagurated in nishaghandhi open auditorium, kanaka kunnu, trivandrum. The officially sposnsored onam celebration will be there in all major cities of kerala for another 5 days.
