How to write in malayalam

Do you know how to write in malayalm if you dont know the malayalam type writing? One of the option is to download the varamozhi editor. Few minutes ago i have downloaded the varamozhi editor and tried to type in malayalam. But there are some problem with the malaylam font. As per the sugestion from online resource guide i have downloaded the font Matweb. Even after installing the font (which i have copied to the fonts folder in the windows) i am not getting the accurate output in malayalam. The benefit of the varamozhi editor is that you can write in english rather i would say that in manglish and you will the output in malayalam. It can be copied to desired location. As per the online resource guide there will be some issues when copying the malaylam text to another software.

On typing with the varamozi editor i am unable to find and type some of the characters in malayalam. As there are missing fonts in malayalam while typing i have searched over the net to find out some other solution to type in malayalam and i stumbled upon the page named Google Indic Transliteration. You can visit the link http://www.google.com/transliterate/indic/Malayalam to find out the page. I found that this page is more user friendly and has got better out put when compared with varamozhi editor. One important factor to be considered is that there is no need to install any thing. You can generate your malayalam text online.

The google indic transliteration has got options to convert the text not only to malayalam but also to hindi, tamil, kannada and telungu. If you know any of these languages and know how to type in english you can easily get the output in your desired language. I you are typing in a particular regional language and want to type some words in english, you just have to press ctrl + g. The editor is also provided with a print option to print the text we have typed in.

I feel that google indic translation is much better when compared to any kind of regional language editors provided you have an internet connection.
