Today’s hot discussion in all the malayalam news channels was that whether Oommen Chandy, the hon’ble chief minister of kerala was involved in the 20 year old palm-oil scam. From about 11am onwards the malayalam news channels were celebrating with this news by conducting several discussions and reviews on this issue. The opposition is demanding the resignation of the chief minister and the ruling party has stated that they are not taking this issue as a serious matter and there is no circumstances prevailing in the state for the resignation of the chief minister. As per my knowledge the the chief minister of kerala is not regarded as a culprit by any court of justice till now so there is no need of resignation. If the chief minister was convicted by the hon’ble court of justice in the case then there is room for these type of hot discussions in the channels. I would say that the news channels and opposition should be more responsible towards the people and think about the welfare of the people rather than playing the usual political games. Actually these type of issues in the kerala politics and government is creating a sense of unrest in the minds of both the common man in kerala and in the minds of those who are planning to start their business ventures in the state.
In the previous LDF government the opposition front was not very strong infact the opposition was within the ruling party by now with the new goverment the opposition is quite strong enough to challenge the wrong policies of the government. I think the opposition party of kerala must realise that, more resposibility comes with more power, the resposibility should be towards the welfare of the people in kerala rather than getting political gains.
I have expressed my views from the perspective of a common man and after watching several malayalam news channels from morning onwards. What do you think about this? Am i wrong.
