Thaipooyam Thaipusam Festival in Killipalam Siva Temple, Trivandrum

Today is an auspicious day for devotees of Lord Muruga. Today is the day of thaipooyam (in tamil the festival is called (thaipusam) festival which is mostly celebrated by tamil community. Now a days this festival is celebrated by all hindus, atleast by visiting Lord Muruga Temple during the day. All the Lord Muruga devotees consider this day as a special day for worshipping and offering prayers for Lord Muruga. Thaipooyam (thaipusam) festival is being celebrated and special offerings are made to Lord Muruga especially in temples in south india. Festival is beign celebrated across all muruga temples and lord siva temples. The main festival celebrations include kavadis like agni kavadi, bhasma kavadi, paal kavadi etc

Today afternoon i have visited the Killipalam Siva Temple along with my family. A simple feast was offered by the temple for all the devotees who are visiting the temple. Just like every year people from in and around karamana has visited the temple for attending special poojas and for having feast. A day long festival and poojas are being offered in almost all the Lord Muruga Temples in Trivandrum.
