TRAI Regulation 100 SMS per Day

Recently TRAI has limited the number of SMS send from a particular mobile number to 100 / day. For a regular mobile user / customer this will not directly affect his daily activies
But there are people who are deaf and dumb will be greatly affected by this new regulation
In kerala there are currently about 100000 deaf and dump people who uses sms as their primary means of communication through mobile. Usually the deaf and dumb community sends more than 100 sms per day and some even upto 500 sms per day.
This regulation will affect those deaf and dump people who are working.
Many of the deaf and dump are using 3G video calling services for communication.
I think that the government should relax this rule / regulation to those people who are producing a medical certificate as deaf and dump and should take measures to provide 3G services to at a lesser rate to them.

  1. What a stupidity TRAI? Do you people understand the consequences of limiting sms? If it’s urgent and if a person does not have balance in his mobile, how will he/she communicate? Don’t you estimate all the pros and cons before implementing some plan? And great on occassions there is no limit. This is because you people gain by charging Re.1/- on that day. Kindly, remove this stupid plan. You are just limiting the freedom of people in the country. Before, implementing any plan don’t forget that this is a democratic country.

    • This regulations is implemented by TRAI to regulate the number of marketing and sales oriented sms from a particular number. I think that this regulation will be a blow to those spammer who send huge number of sms per day. The rule can be eased for those deaf and dump in the country who rely very much on sms for their communication. TRAI should seriously think about this matter.
